With a view to spreading the history of the country's Liberation War through film, a daylong festival of Bangladeshi films will be held at Nandan in Kolkata on February 8.
Titled 'Bangladesher Chalchchitra Utsab', the Bangladesh Embassy in India, in association with the central government and state government of West Bengal, India, is organising the fest.
Managing Director of Impress Telefilm Limited Faridur Reza Sagar, Filmmakers Morshedul Islam, Mostafa Sarwar Faruki, Giasuddin Selim, Nurul Alam Atik, Murad Pervez and Swapan Ahmed will be guests on the occasion.
Alongside 'Monpura' of Giasuddin Selim, six other films, made under the banner of Impress Telefilm Limited, 'Durutya'of Morshedul Islam, 'Dub Shatar' of Nurul Alam Atik, 'Third Person Singular Number' of Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, 'Chandragrahan' of Murad Pervez, 'Lal Tip' of Swapan Ahmed and 'Guerrilla' of Nasiruddin Yousuff will be screened at the festival.
The festival will be shifted to Delhi and Agartala in turn.
